Tier 3 Escalation Support for IT Providers and In-House IT

Every IT team eventually hits a problem beyond its depth: a routing issue nobody can explain, a firewall migration with no room for error, a server that will not come back. Engineer Austin, based in Georgetown, Texas, is the senior escalation behind other MSPs, ISPs, installers and in-house IT staff, across networks, firewalls, wireless, servers and Microsoft 365, whatever the vendor. Remote first, on site when it counts, and you keep the client relationship.

Who we back up

Senior help for the people who support everyone else

MSPs and IT providers

Your technicians handle tier 1 and tier 2; we take the escalations they cannot clear, and the projects that need senior design time for a few weeks. We can work behind the scenes for your client or alongside you on the call, whichever you prefer.

In-house IT staff

An IT manager or a one-person IT department gets a senior team to call: a second opinion before a big change, hands on site for a migration or cut-over, and someone to own the problem when it is outside their specialty.

ISPs and WISPs

Senior network support for small providers: routing, core and edge, access networks and wireless backhaul, with on-call escalation for staff who already run the network day to day. See ISP and WISP engineering support.

Installers and integrators

Low-voltage, security and AV installers who need a network specialist for the firewall, VLAN, Wi-Fi or wireless-link side of a job, from design review to a live turn-up.

What we escalate

Multi-vendor, end to end

  • Routing and switching. BGP, OSPF, VLANs, multi-WAN failover, VPNs and carrier-grade NAT, on MikroTik, FortiGate, Zyxel, Ubiquiti, Cisco and comparable platforms.
  • Firewalls and security incidents. Rule clean-up, hardening, migrations between platforms, and containment that preserves evidence when something has gone wrong.
  • Wireless. Wi-Fi coverage and interference problems, point-to-point and point-to-multipoint links, and spectrum analysis.
  • Servers and virtualization. Windows Server and Active Directory, Hyper-V and VMware, Linux, storage and backup restores.
  • Microsoft 365 and Entra ID. Identity, Conditional Access, mail flow, SharePoint and tenant migrations.
  • Performance and outages. Latency, packet loss and intermittent drops traced to a cause, with the evidence a carrier or vendor needs to act on a ticket.
  • Network audit and discovery. An inherited or undocumented network mapped and documented read-only, so your team knows what it is supporting.
  • Root-cause analysis. A written account of what failed, why, what was changed and what would stop it happening again.
How it works

Ready before you need us

Set up in advance

We agree scope, contacts and the escalation path in writing, review your documentation and arrange access, read-only to start, so a call does not begin with "send us a diagram".

Escalate

Your team calls or emails with what has been tried. We pick it up remotely, and on site when the problem needs hands, within the response targets agreed in your engagement.

Fix and document

Changes are made with your approval, logged with a rollback, and written up with the root cause, so your documentation is better after the call than before it.

Hand back

The problem goes back to your team with a clear explanation of what we found and why, so the same issue does not need an escalation next time.

Engagement options. An on-call retainer or block of hours for teams that want a guaranteed escalation path, or per-incident and project work billed time and materials, portal to portal, or as a fixed fee. Business-hours response is standard; after-hours and emergency escalation is available by arrangement.

Why us

No vendor agenda, no client poaching

We are not tied to one equipment vendor, so the fix we recommend is the one that solves the problem, not the one with a product attached, and we favor lifetime-licensed and open platforms where they are the right fit. When we work behind another provider, the client stays theirs. Our team has supported networks since 1997, from ISP cores to small offices, and our own managed estate spans 378 sites and more than 1,600 network devices.

Run by an engineering firm

Escalations are handled on engineering principles under a licensed engineering firm: evidence first, changes approved and reversible, and the reasoning written down. Engineer Austin is Texas Registered Engineering Firm F‑15739; our team does the work to house standards set by our licensed Professional Engineer.

How AI speeds this up for you

Logs, configuration exports and packet captures are sorted and cross-checked with AI assistance in our approval-gated tooling, so a root cause is found faster. A person makes every diagnosis and approves every change, nothing changes on your systems on its own, and no client secret is ever pasted into a public AI tool. How we use AI.

FAQ

Escalation support, answered plainly

Will you talk to our client directly?

Only if you want us to. We can work entirely behind you, join a call as part of your team, or take the lead on site. Either way the client relationship stays yours, and that is written into the engagement.

Do we need a contract before we call?

No. One-off escalations are welcome: tell us what you are facing, and we will tell you quickly whether we can take it on. A retainer or block of hours gives you a guaranteed path and lets us set up access in advance, which makes the first call much faster. No project is too small or too large to ask about.

Can you send someone on site?

Yes. Most escalations are resolved remotely, but we come on site across Central Texas when the problem needs hands, and further afield by arrangement. On-site time is billed portal to portal.

What access do you need?

Only what the problem requires, set up in advance where possible. We start read-only, request elevated access for specific changes, and remove our access when the engagement ends if you ask us to.

Which platforms do you support?

MikroTik, FortiGate, Zyxel, Ubiquiti UniFi and UISP, Cisco and comparable network platforms; Windows Server, Active Directory, Hyper-V, VMware and Linux; and Microsoft 365. Cisco escalations are reviewed case by case when they come in, so we can confirm the right people are on it before we accept the work. If something is outside what we do well, we say so before we start.

Will you train our team?

Yes. Every escalation ends with an explanation your team can use, and we can run working sessions on the platforms and designs you support, so fewer problems need us at all.

Start with a written assessment.

Tell us what you have and what is not working. Someone from our team, not a salesperson, replies within one business day by email or phone, and brings in our engineer when your request needs one. The assessment report is yours to keep whether or not you buy anything.
